i have some old work excel files with quite a lot of vba routines i programmed over the last few years... now i can't remember the passwords to get back into them. looking for information on how to recover/remove the passwords. any help/ideas would be appreciated

I believe excell documents don't get encrypted. try opening it with something else that reads excell documents.
the first open office beta's didn't even ask for the password when you loaded a protected excell document, and it just worked.
